Plot Summary
Star Ocean Ex is about a boy named Claude C. Kenni, he is the son of a starship captain, and on a visit to an uncharted planed is mysteriously transported to another world. He saves a girl named Rena Lanford from being eaten alive. However he is startled to find he meets the exact specifications of this world's legendary hero. Unwillingly at first, he begins his epic journey to find out the mysteries of the sorcery globe, an orb from space which contains pure evil, while protecting Rena, Ashton, a travelling swordsman with two very odd friends, and Celine from harm.

Claude C. Kenni
Claude is just an average starship captain's son when he is transported to another world. He saves a girl from being eaten and is then mistaken for the world's legendary hero. He finds out that there is a stone on this new world called the sorcery globe which is menacing the inhabitants of the planet. So, along with Ashton, Rena, and Celine, he journeys to find the connection to his home from the sorcery globe. |
Rena Lanford
Rena was was meditating in the woods, when a monster attacked her. Before it could eat her the legendary warrior, Claude, shot it with his sword of light. Rena ventures across the world with Claude to find the mysteries of the Sorcery Globe. By The Way, she has the hots for Claude...Big Time!! |
Celine Jules
Celine is a Crest Sorceress, she also has the hots for Claude. She is very greedy, but the only thing stronger than her greed is her phobia of insects. She follows Claude because she likes his company, and is afraid to be alone. She also looks for a translation to a book of runees she found, in hopes she can make some money from it. |
Dias Flac
Dias is an excellent swordsman, the best actually. He is bitter rivals with Claude because (I believe) he thinks Claude isn't good enough for Rena. He and Rena have had a deep past relationship. Diaz is very mysterious and keeps his emotions locked deep insde him. |
Ashton Anchors
Ashton is a wandering swordsman who has some sort of odd barrel fetish. During an attempt to save a villiage he becomes possessed by a two-headed dragon-demon. He does not like being possessed. He follows Claude and Rena to find a way to remove the dragon entities (Gyoro and Ururun) without hurting them. |
Gyoro
Gyoro is the red dragon head attached to Ashton's back. He was named "Gyoro", because of his eye shape. In Japanese, Gyoro means the eyes are long, as if angry. Gyoro posesses the ability to breathe fire. |
Ururun
Ururun is Gyoro's counterpart. He is the blue dragon head attached to Ashton. He was also named because of his eye shape. In Japanese, Ururun means that the eyes are round as if weeping. Unlike Gyoro, Ururun does not breathe fire, he breathes Ice. |
